About
“Change is the only constant in the world. How else would the plot thicken?” – Sweet Madness Productions Founder, Amanda Montoni.
It all started when…
I noticed there was something very important missing for actors.
I’ve been involved in theatre for decades - most of my life - and year after year I saw actors get flustered, frustrated, and inflamed.
Why? After I asked them a simple question, the answer made everything clear.
“Has anyone ever told you what happens on the other side of the audition table?”
They all answered “No.”
That’s when I knew, the education arm of the theatre world is, for lack of a better word, neglecting our actors - the very people we need to make shows happen. Without them, there is no show.
What did I do with this new-found enlightenment? I made it my mission to direct shows by informing actors what’s going on behind the casting table.
The results? Decreased self-doubt, decreased frustration, and increased breathing.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to create and bring exceptional theatre and arts experiences to NY that lead with the heart, inspire spirit, and encourage expansion of the mind through the power of transparency.
WHAT WE DO
Sweet Madness Productions amplifies the diverse voices of the world, building a community of acceptance, progress, and belonging.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Through our programs, we nurture new mind-sets that expand beyond the theatre universe: confidence, self-love, and ways to find peace in a chaotic world from day to day.
WE BELIEVE
transparency in being the first step toward greater knowledge. No more keeping actors from learning how auditions work from behind the table. No more receiving information on a “need-to-know” basis. When everyone has the knowledge of how things work all around, the experience in the room becomes more pleasant all around.
VISION
We envision an environment that radiates transparency to connect artists not only to themselves and their individual missions, but to each other, breaking the traditional barriers and hierarchies of traditional theatre to create a healthier, collaborative, and understanding entertainment future.
